Dr. James Hyslop is an award-winning dentist and implantologist with a strong focus on cosmetic and restorative dentistry, including dental implants crowns, bridgework, veneers, root treatments and periodontology.
Qualifications & Expertise
Dr. Hyslop graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of Sheffield in 1996. He became a member of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners in 2004 and completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Endodontics at the University of Chester in 2010. In 2012, he earned his Master’s Degree in Periodontology from the University of the Western Cape, supported by his thesis on the "Prevalence and Severity of Periodontal Disease in Type 2 Diabetes."
Since 2006, Dr. Hyslop has been placing and restoring dental implants. He completed the prestigious Diploma in Implant Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons, London, in 2013.
Professional Background
Dr. Hyslop began his dental career in the Royal Army Dental Corps, serving as a Dental Officer from 1997 to 2005. Afterward, he worked in NHS General Dental Practice in Formby, Merseyside, before joining the Department of Periodontology at the University of the Western Cape in South Africa, where he further honed his skills in implantology.
